This is simply because it’s exposed and it's the part of the rifle that takes the most knocks.

All rifle barrel shortening & re-crown jobs are carried out on a lathe removing the action & barrel from the stock of the rifle.

The barrel is mounted in the lathe between centers so the rifle barrel shortening & re-crown aligns perfectly with the bore of the barrel.

We use the Flat re-crown method the most, but will carry out any require style re-crown of the customers choice.
