GBC ABYSS SP-i (Straight Pull-ignition) Series IIA HUNTER FDE Rifle, caliber .223 Rem/5.56mm from Gun Supplies, Rotorua, New Zealand.

The GBC ABYSS SP-i Series IIA HUNTER FDE Straight Pull Rifle is a completely new designed rifle from the ground up.

The GBC ABYSS SP-i is a straight pull, single shot, spring operated bolt action rifle.

The bolt when fully charged (pulled) backwards is released, the forward returned motion of the bolt picks up a round from the magazine, chambering it.

The rifle incorporates specifically designed components that only fit the GBC ABYSS SP-i rifle.

Parts Specific to GBC ABYSS SP-i rifles are:

  • Upper & Lower Receiver
  • Bolt Carrier
  • Bolt Assembly
  • Bolt Catch
  • Ambidextrous Extended Magazine Catch
  • Barrel
  • Pull Lever Charging Rod Handle (Charging handle is reversible, left or right hand side)
  • Charging Handle Knob
  • Drop in Trigger Assembly

The HUNTER FDE rifle is fitted with the following products:

  • TRI-CUT 15" Handguard 1-1/2" Diameter Full Length Top Picatinny Rail with M-Lok Cut-outs
  • 16" LITE-MEDIUM Contour Barrel 1:9 Twist 223/556
  • Threaded 1/2-28
  • CTR Magpul Butt-stock
  • A2 Style Pistol Grip
  • Drop In 3Ib Trigger
  • Ambidextrous Safety
  • Rifle finished is a semi hard anodised coating on the aluminium parts, then painted in Cerakote paint, FDE (Flat Dark Earth).
  • One (1) magazine is included with the rifle.
The rifles have been designed to fit the Magpul PMAG 10 round magazines, or any other polymer magazine.
